Being located in Raglan is a great opportunity for our team to balance family time, enjoy the great surf and also get projects out the door. Hayden has 20 years of experience in civil, stormwater and land development related projects within professional engineering consultancies. He has been responsible for construction, investigation, analysis, design, planning and project management of private development and infrastructure projects.

Andrews comprehensive knowledge and practical skills make him a valuable asset in the intricate landscape of land development sector.

Richard has around 23 years’ experience in the environmental planning field working with central government departments, district councils, regional councils and for the past 13 years in the private consulting sector. He has been responsible for both processing, applying for and undertaking compliance monitoring on numerous large-scale complex resource consent projects requiring a high level of technical expertise including state highway projects and windfarms. Richard's key strengths are his expert knowledge of best practice environmental management requirements for land development projects and his skills in consultation and engagement.

Jono has more than 20 years experience in the construction sector, including the design, construction and management of various residential, commercial and industrial projects.

Prior to his arrival in Raglan in 2018, he was the director of a large company operating in the energy and construction sectors. Since his arrival at Wainui, Jono has been responsible for the project management of Raglan's Rangitahi Peninsula development as well as various projects across the Waikato. His extensive building background is a valuable asset along with people and project management, business relationships and planning and implementation across various industries and disciplines.

Ted is a civil engineer with 10 years of experience in the private and public sectors. He has experience in planning, investigation, design, construction, and project management in the civil, environmental, and geotechnical engineering sectors as well as operating and maintaining large-scale water supply infrastructure in the Auckland Region. Alongside working as an engineer, Ted has experience managing risk in mountain environments. He has been a member of the Whakapapa Ski Patrol for the last 5 winters where he manages avalanche hazards, provides first aid, and undertakes alpine rescue.

She spent 10 years in the States with her family working in the entertainment industry as a Lighting Director and Finance Manager. Prior to that, she worked in various finance and administrative roles for the public sector, not-for-profit, and early childhood education. From supporting music artists to supporting engineers, Mel will tell you it can all be done with a good spreadsheet and a coffee.

civil engineer designer / draughtsperson

Wainui Environmental Ltd provide services in planning, land development engineering, civil design, construction supervision and project management. Our brand new office is located in Raglan, a few minutes drive from world class surf breaks. We serve private and public clients throughout the Waikato region and beyond, in a diverse range of civil, land use and land development projects. The right candidate to join our expanding Engineering team would ideally possess some or all of the following skills. 

  • be competent with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D design software
  • possess the ability to work efficiently to develop design solutions by themselves or with senior staff
  • have experience in land development engineering
  • be attentive to detail and possess a desire to achieve client expectations and superior design solutions

a minimum of 2 years New Zealand work experience in a relevant field is required. Role could involve any or all of the following: preparation of plans for multi-lot land developments, project management/construction monitoring, engineering design. You must have the right to work and live in New Zealand. Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications.

We are currently looking for someone to step into the exciting and challenging role of Civil/Environmental Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional engineer with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects, and working collaboratively with our clients and team members. You will have a chance to work on projects from the initial investigation right through to the completion of construction.

Our preferred candidate for this role will have proven technical experience in a an engineering consultanancy environment. You will be experienced dealing with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies and commercial companies. In this exciting position, your own self-management skills will be as important as your technical and project management ones. You will need to be able to prioritize workloads whilst maintaining strong and trusting working relationships with our Clients and the Wainui Environmental team.

Key requirements are a BE Civil Engineering or equivalent, plus a minimum of 5 years professional experience in the industry.
